Natural Abalone Pearls

Due to its unusual shape, rarity and difficulty to harvest, most jewelry designers have never thought of natural abalone pearls as worthy of wearing. Kim Hurlbert never thought otherwise. It was over 25 years ago, when Kim purchased one of the most major collections ever amassed of abalone pearls, then owned by Lowell Jones. Thousands of these irregularly and beautifully shaped pearls, mostly blue in hue with overtones of purple and green, are of gem quality. Now, 25 years in the making, Kim has released her own intrinsically unique designs, inspired by regal jewelry of the Renaissance era. The Timeless Gems Abalone Pearl Collection of Jewelry incorporates this luminescent pearl with diamonds, colored gemstones and precious metals in ways never before imagined.
